Veterinary Hospital

The State University of Maringá’s Veterinary Hospital (Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Estadual de Maringá - HVU) offers veterinary services to the community, helping animals in the Umuarama Metropolitan Region and its surroundings - which include bigger cities such as Maringá and Londrina, as well as the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The hospital aims at consolidating itself as a reference center in clinical and surgical treatments for small and large animals.

In addition to the benefits for the animal and public health, the offering of these services stands as one of the chief cornerstones for teaching and learning in the Veterinary Medicine undergraduate course, as well as in the graduate programs (Sustainable Production and Animal Health Graduate Program and Veterinary Residence Lato Sensu Graduate Program). It facilitates students’ experience in clinical practice and provides them with the environment for research development.
