Northwestern Regional Campus

Although it does not offer in person undergraduate courses, the Northwestern Regional Campus, located in the city of Diamante do Norte (PR), 170 km (approximately 105 miles) away from Maringá (PR), is a support center for the online courses offered by the State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM)

The campus infrastructure also allows the development of cutting-edge technology in partnerships with other universities and institutions. For instance, UEM maintains a research program on the preservation of the Moura breed swine, which is in extinction, along with the Federal University of Paraná (Universidade Federal de Paraná - UFPR).

Allied with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária - Embrapa), UEM investigates the production, genetic improvement and the quality of manioc and the plethora of variations.

In partnership with the Animal Science Department, in the Maringá campus, there is a project of genetic management of fish in net tanks for pisciculture, constituting a rich field of research for students in doctorate and master's degree.

The Diamante do Norte campus houses the State Agricultural School facilities (Colégio Agrícola Estadual), which offers vocational courses in Agriculture and cattle raising technicians, along with the Paraná State Education and Sports Bureau (Secretaria da Educação e do Esporte do Estado do Paraná) and State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM).
