Internationalization

Due to a broad and strategic perspective, the State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM) seeks to prepare the citizens to deal with local and global matters. Meaningful researches influence society through global learning and comunity engagement.

UEM is aware of its importance as a transformative agent, preparing students, professors and other employees for a global society. International partnerships and collaborations are one of the pillars of our internationalization process. Considering this scenario, UEM has establish partinerships with over 100 universities worldwide, in 34 countries, and keeps investing and identifying new opportunities to build new partnerships with universities and research centers in other countries.

UEM has been invited to participate in the Internationalization Laboratory, in the American Council of Education program, by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Capes). The strategic partnerships allow the development of international efforts in Teaching, Research and Academic Outreach.

Programs such as Brazil- France Agronomy (Brasil - França Agronomia - Brafagri/Capes), French Committee for the Evaluation of University Cooperation with Brazil (Comitê Francês de Avaliação da Cooperação Universitária com o Brasil - Cofecub/Capes), Visiting PhD Students Program (Programa de Doutorado - Sanduíche no Exterior - PDSE/Capes), Regional Academic Mobility to Credited Courses Program (Programa de Mobilidade Acadêmica Regional em Cursos Acreditados - Marca) and South American Midwest Integration Zone (Zona de Integração do Centro Oeste da América do Sul - Zicosur), among others, allow students and professors the necessary mobility to enter and leave countries. The donation of international and Brazilian agencies - such as Capes and National Council for Scientific and Technological Developmen (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico eTecnológico - CNPq) - enable the stay for professors and employees.

A wide array of research and outreach projects support the development of international network with foreign universities and research centers and the resulting international inclusion of our university. In terms of publication records, over 10,2 thousand scientific papers can be found at the Web of Science and Scopus base, thus reflecting its excelence in research.
