UEM receives visit from honorary British Consul in Paraná

Adam Patterson paid a visit to the vice-rector’s office, where ways to encourage scientific exchange were discussed

The State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá - UEM), received, this Thursday (31), through the International Cooperation Office (Escritório de Cooperação Internacional - ECI), the visit of the honorary British Consul in Paraná, Adam Patterson. He was accompanied by the deputy Consul-General from the British Consulate-General in São Paulo, Lisa Weedon; Education manager, Maria Sales; and the Business Development manager, Larissa Vázquez.

In conversation with UEM’s vice-rector, Gisele Mendez; ECI’s coordinator, Renato Leão and the Head of the Rector’s Office, professor Maria Furlan Costa, possible partnerships with British universities to encourage transnational education and scientific exchange were discussed. The British delegation was also at the Trade and Business Association of Maringá (Associação Comercial e Empresarial de Maringá - ACIM) and the City Hall to get in touch with local businessmen and public managers.
