Master’s Program and Doctoral Program
The Physical Education Graduate Associate Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Física – UEM - UEL - PEF), linked to the Center of Physical Education and Sport of the State University of Londrina (Universidade Estadual de Londrina - UEL) and the Department of Physical Education of the State University of Maringá (Universidade Estadual de Maringá), is the first Graduate Associate Program in Physical Education of Brazil to implement the master’s program, which was founded in 2006, and the doctoral program, founded in 2011. The program certified more than 400 graduate students with the Master’s or Doctoral degrees and currently has 40 professors (32 associate professors and 8 assistant professors), as well as 175 regular students. In the last evaluation by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior – CAPES) (2013-2016) the program received score 4. The master’s and doctoral programs were structured to assist professionals in the major area of Health Sciences, especially those graduated in Physical Education/Sports who are interested in studying human performance and physical activity or social practices in Physical Education, according to the research fields offered by the Program.
